What to expect in a Reiki treatment
People often want to know what to expect in a Reiki treatment. Firstly, the client lies on a treatment couch or sits in a chair if they prefer. There is no need to remove any clothing. Many clients like to have gentle music playing in the background and soft lighting. Then I gently place my hands either on your body (non-intrusively) or a few inches above it, to channel the Reiki energy. The idea is to work along the body from head to toe, spending a few minutes in each hand position.
Working with the whole body allows the body’s energy centres to open up. As a result the Reiki works where it is most needed. It eases physical and emotional problems and does not interfere with any other treatments you may be having. A treatment lasts about 45 minutes, or can be tailored to your needs.
How does Reiki feel?
Most people experience a deep sense of relaxation and come away feeling an overwhelming sense of well-being. During the treatment clients often report feelings of intense warmth, tingling, reduction in pain and discomfort, and a general melting away of worries.
A Reiki treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. It’s quite hard to explain, you might need to see for yourself!
Gentle Complementary Treatment
Reiki is a simple, gentle treatment and is often used in hospitals and hospices alongside traditional medical care. Therefore it is suitable for people or all ages and backgrounds. It can be carried out in any setting where you have space to relax.
One-off Reiki treatments are a lovely boost, and a regular course can really help to enhance your physical and emotional well-being.
